Special envoys from South Africa call on Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism |04 March 2022
A South African delegation led by special envoys Alvin Botes, deputy Minister for International Relations and Cooperation and Ambassador Welile Nhlapo called on the Minister for Foreign Affairs & Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, yesterday at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
The special envoys’ mission is to personally convey a message to President Wavel Ramkalawan on behalf of his South African counterpart President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa.
During the meeting, the delegates spoke of the excellent relations and cooperation that Seychelles and South Africa have shared throughout the years, notably in the educational and cultural sectors.
Both parties pledged to continue forging these relations to greater heights.
They also expressed their conviction that the presence of the Seychelles high commission in South Africa is critical to this relationship.
Minister Radegonde reassured the envoys that Seychelles recognises the steering role that President Ramaphosa has played as Champion for the Covid-AU vaccination programme.
The South African delegation also comprise the chief of director East Africa, Tselane Mokuena and the head of office of the deputy Minister, Justin De Allende.
