Covid-19 update |19 October 2021

217 active cases

There are currently 217 active cases of Covid-19 among which 198 cases are on Mahé and 19 on Praslin.

There are no Covid-19 cases on La Digue.

Almost all of the current Covid-19 cases are the Delta variant.

Community transmission continues and all districts are reporting cases and the 7-day moving average is presently 23.

Seychelles still counts 119 deaths while there are 21,567 recovered cases, according to the Ministry of Health’s most recent update.

A total of 21,903 Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the country since the start of the pandemic.

The Public Health Authority is urging the public not to let their guard down and to continue to strictly adhere to public health and social measures such as proper wearing of masks, physical distancing, among others to prevent a surge in the number of cases.
