Bel Air basketball academy to benefit from Beachcomber Sainte Anne Resort’s help |19 May 2016
The newly launched Bel Air basketball academy has been seeking sponsorship and help in order to efficiently manage the academy.
The initiative has been welcomed by the National Sports Council, other institutions and individuals and last week the academy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for financial support with Beachcomber Sainte Anne Resort & Spa general manager Norbert Couvreur.
Jeffrey Payet signed the document on behalf of the Bel Air basketball academy in the presence of Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange, Seychelles Tourism Board chief executive Sherin Naiken, Jean Louis Pismont, the group manager at Beachcomber who is overseeing the Seychelles resort for Beachcomber as well as other members of the Bel Air basketball academy.
As Jeffrey Payet thanked Beachcomber Sainte Anne Resort & Spa for the support he was also informed that dedicated members of the academy will also have access to a new facility in France where professional sportsmen and women train as this is attached to the new property that will be managed by Norbert Couvreur.
"This is a first for the youths of Seychelles and this is an opening our new culture ambassador is offering to the Seychellois sportsmen and women in this tourism and sports teacup," said Minister St Ange.
