The African Open Championship is first on the agenda for Dugasse, and he is currently in Casablanca, Morocco, for the tournament that begins today.
Dugasse must be ranked among the top 22 judokas worldwide in the -100kg category to stand a chance of being granted a place at the games.
After the African Open championship, Dugasse will make an appearance at the African Championship in Tunisia in April.
The former Sportsman of the Year is currently ranked 110th in the -100kg category with 58 points.
