FSA new regulator of casino and gaming machine business in Seychelles |13 January 2016

The casino and gaming machine portfolio has been transferred from the Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA) to the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

This means the licensing, regulation and supervision of all existing as well as prospective casino and gaming machine businesses is now under the responsibility of the FSA.

The SLA will remain the regulator for betting, games of chance and coin operated machines.

This follows the coming into force of the Seychelles Gambling Act 2014 on November 1, 2015.

It was enacted on January 19, 2015.

To ensure a smooth transition during this period, all existing casino and gaming machine licensees have been granted nine months from the commencement of the Seychelles Gambling Act to comply with the requirements of the new Act. As such, to facilitate access to information during this transitionary period, any person wishing to obtain any additional information relating to casino and gaming machine business may contact the Gambling Supervision Section of the FSA.
