Jones Camille launches second gospel album |05 November 2015
It has been over seven long years since fans of local music icon Jones Camille have been able to listen to some of his newest work, but the wait is now over as the 59-year-old has put on the shelves a new gospel album.
‘Lamour Agape’ is the title of Camille’s second gospel album and his 13th album altogether.
“Lamour Agape” which means Christ’s love, is a purely gospel album and features various styles of music, including zouk, sega, slow, reggae and even dancehall,” stated Camille.
Camille’s fans will be happy to know that the album features a remix of radio mainstay My Jesus Is Able among other new tracks such as Bondye Toupwisan, Kouronn Paradi and Pilye mon lavi to name a few. The album also contains a number of songs in English as well.
“My aim with this album is to continue to get people to appreciate God’s beauty and to be closer to our Creator,” said Camille.
He added it is for this reason that his album contains the lyrics to all the songs featured on there so that listeners can learn the words and sing along as they worship God.
“I do believe there needs to be more gospel work in Seychelles and even though I can see a few people nowadays making gospel music, I just hope they do not end up doing it for business but instead they do it to share God’s words,” he added.
Having been in the music business for a long time, Camille notes that a lot has changed over the years and although some of it has not necessarily changed for the better, technological advancements have really had a good impact especially for music recordings.
The album is already on sale at Ray’s Music Room, Dam’s Enterprise (on Mahé), Ah-Yun (Praslin) and Chez Marston (La Digue) at R150, but if the album is bought directly from Camille himself it costs R125.
Those interested in purchasing a copy of the album which contains some very soothing and meditative songs can contact Camille on 2521116.
