Miss Seychelles ... Another World Beauty Pageant 2014 |14 June 2014
Creole melting pot in the spotlight
It was a night of beauty and elegance. The organisers of Miss Seychelles … Another World 2014 beauty pageant have announced this year’s pageant was successful in every aspect – from the ambiance to the crowd that attended the soirée.
For those who missed the pageant held at the Savoy Resort and Spa Seychelles, it was an evening that showcased the Seychellois girls’ beauty, elegance and above all their diversity as Creoles.
The flamboyant display of Petites Folies and Quatre Epices attire on the Miss Seychelles … Another World 2014 catwalk is the talk of the town, now that the furore of the pageant is slowly becoming a pleasant but distant memory.
Being their second sponsorship in the Miss Seychelles Beauty Pageant, Petites Folies displayed an ensemble of vibrant colours of silk Georgette flared skirts and bolero tops – the perfect complement to the 12 contestants beauty.
To recall, this year the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) had girls from all corners of the country showing interest to take part in the pageant, which would eventually see Camilla Estico crowned as a new tourism ambassador.
Meanwhile, the vibrant colours evident throughout the show were also largely responsible for highlighting the 12 contestants’ natural beauty, as well as the warmth and flamboyancy of the Seychellois culture.
The quality attire – which incidentally may be purchased at the Petites Folies boutique at Eden Plaza – were imported by the boutique’s owner and upcoming business entrepreneur Brigitte Payet.
“The clothes we displayed on the pageant night were manufactured and flown in from India, as a special collection uniquely designed for this year’s Miss Seychelles contestants,” explained Mrs Payet.
Equally dazzling on the night of the pageant were the Dubai-based Rubina Khan’s multi-coloured silk kaftans sponsored by the Quatre Epices boutique – also based at Eden Plaza.
STB has pointed out that this year, its sponsors have surpassed its expectations not only in the quality of the products they provided but also through their diversity of sponsorship.
Other faithful STB partners included Raffles Praslin Seychelles, Hilton Northolme, Dira’s Boutique and a host of other devoted sponsors who voluntarily extend their support every year.
“We would never have been able to soar to greater heights for this year’s pageant, without their help,” said STB’s chief executive Sherin Naiken.
Ms Naiken added that she was looking forward to more sponsors to give their support to next year’s annual beauty pageant.
