Seventh Seychelles Eco-friendly marathon: Winners rewarded at gala dinner |01 March 2014

inners of the seventh Seychelles Eco-friendly marathon received their prizes during a gala dinner last Sunday at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay hotel.

The evening was also an opportunity for the guests to enjoy some special Korean cuisine and music and watch a traditional Korean royal costume fashion show.

The Seychelles Eco-friendly Marathon is an annual event held every last Sunday of February and is organised by Dong Chang Jeong, the honorary consul general of the Republic of Seychelles in South Korea, in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board and the National Sports Council.

Although all those who took part received a T-shirt, a commemorative medal and a certificate for their effort, female winner Anneli Sodergards from Sweden and male winner Simon Labiche of Seychelles received US $500, a trophy sponsored by Mr Jeong, a round trip air ticket sponsored by Air Seychelles and accommodation for two persons for two nights on half board at Sunset Beach Resort, Mahe.

Olivia Peytour from France and Roberto Giordano for Italy took the second prizes and they each received US $400 and a trophy. Ms Peytor also got one return ticket for two onboard Cat Cocos, one weekend at Domaine de L’Orangeraie for two and an excursion on board Oplezir sponsored by Creole Travel Services.

The race also comprised half-marathon, 10km and 5km races. The following are the top-five finishers in each race.
