Basketball: National League-Dawgz clinch Men’s Division Two title |07 October 2008
Ambitious Mont Fleuri Dawgz booked their ticket to the top flight with a 77-45 win over an Anse Boileau-based team made up of very young talented players.
After the first quarter finished tied at 16-16, the Dawgz outscored Drifters 20-11, 25-11 and 16-7 in the remaining three quarters for their 17th win of the season.
Nobody can catch them and they are therefore the 2008 Men’s Division Two champions and will play top-flight basketball next year.
The Dawgz, who got 19 points from skipper Reggie Ah-kong and Aubrey Adeline and another 14 from Christopher Dugasse, will replace Razors, who will make the drop.
Arnaud Arissol, who is developing into a good leader on the court, led Drifters with 17 points.
