Having joined Manchester United as a schoolboy in 1991, Gary made his senior debut for the only club he has played for, in 1992.
Gary emerged as part of Sir Alex Ferguson's phenomenal youth oriented fledgling side of the 1990s (nicknamed Fergie's Fledglings) that included his brother Phil, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes.
In December 2005, Gary was appointed the new captain of Manchester United following Roy Keane's departure.
He made his international debut in 1995 and has been first choice right back for club and country for more than 10 years.
Gary and younger brother Phil Neville were teammates at both club and international level all their careers until Phil joined Everton in 2005.
Gary, who missed the final stage of the just-ended Premiership campaign after suffering an injury to an ankle needing surgery, has thus far won seven Premiership titles (1995/1996, 1996/1997, 1998/1999, 1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2002/2003 and 2006/2007), three FA Cups (1996, 1999 and 2004), one UEFA Champions League previously European Cup (1998/1999) and one League Cup (2006), the last of which was his first trophy as captain.
The youngest first choice player in the England first team during Euro 96, Neville played in two editions of the World Cup (in 1998 and 2006) and two editions of the European Championship (in 2000 and 2004). He missed the 2002 World Cup with a broken foot.
It is to note that England and Chelsea captain John Terry married Toni Poole on Friday June 15 at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, in an event believed to have cost almost £1m.
