Philippe Calle
The Seychelles Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (Sabvi) regrets to announce the death of Phillipe Calle. He left this world and Sabvi in a tragic way on October 29, 2022.
Philippe was implicated at the inception of the association in 2018 but later became more actively involved. In 2019, he was appointed assistant secretary, a job that he took to heart, carrying out his tasks in an efficient and conscientious manner. He was dedicated and always present on all fronts working tirelessly to ensure that the members of our vulnerable blind and visually deficient community were represented at the forefront of all pertinent fora. Over the last two years he made a huge contribution to the development of the association providing valuable support and assistance for which Sabvi is extremely grateful.
With his bible The Geneva Convention on the rights of the persons with disabilities, Philippe had a dream to pursue educational options for the non-sighted and visually-impaired children in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education so they would reach their full potential. However, this was not meant to be.
Phillipe you have left a gap in our midst but your hard work will help us forge ahead and fulfill our goals. Sabvi wishes to extend its sincere condolences to his family at their sad loss.

Hommage des sœurs de Philippe
Philippe était un petit garçon très dynamique et joyeux. Il aimait courir, faire des acrobaties et bien sûr taquiner ses sœurs, comme tous les petits garçons...
Il a quitté la petite ville où nous habitions pour faire des études d'ingénieur sur Paris, son service militaire à Saint Cyr.
Il a ensuite voyagé dans le monde entier pour son travail pendant de longues années.
Partout où il a séjourné, il a laissé des amis, des personnes à qui il a su offrir son écoute, son aide quand il le pouvait comme il l'a fait pour sa famille.
Ces dernières années, il s'est investi sans compter dans plusieurs associations seychelloises, dans de nouveaux projets professionnels mis au service des Seychelles, ainsi qu'auprès des siens en apportant sa force de travail et son amour.
Il a donné son temps et partagé ses connaissances pour faire avancer l'association des sourds, n'hésitant pas à apprendre à signer.
Il a également accompagné avec efficacité et bienveillance l'association SABVI créant des liens sincères et indéfectibles avec certains de ses membres.
Un de ses amis très cher a écrit quelque chose qui résume, à mon avis, très bien sa vie : « L'humanité entière existe dans le cœur de Philippe ».
Nous sommes ses trois sœurs Agnès, Karine et Fabienne. Malgré notre éparpillement dans le monde et des contacts parfois irréguliers, chacune à notre façon, nous aimons notre frère et le garderons à jamais dans notre cœur.
Philippe tu vas tant nous manquer.
