Waterfront Café and sponsors to host fundraising event for Jahrimba |27 July 2021
The Waterfront Café will this Friday evening host a fundraising event for celebrated singer and chef Jahrimba, in collaboration with other sponsors.
The soirée, featuring a dinner, raffle draw and light live entertainment, is set to kick off as of 6.30pm and end at 9.30pm, and promises to be a night filled with excitement for all in attendance.
Owner of Waterfront Café, Jennifer Couch approached sponsors and organised the event as a way of giving back to Jahrimba, and to help the well-known personality bounce back after an unexpected turn of events.
“Jahrimba worked with us as a chef and has recently experienced something life-changing, so as his employers, we wanted to help him, hence the idea of the fundraising event,” Mrs Couch told Seychelles NATION.
“Fortunately, we managed to secure sponsors from generous organisations for the raffle, and on the night, we will have a simple dinner, priced at R450 per couple. The raffle tickets are priced at R25 and there are lots of exciting prizes to be won. We would really like for people to offer their support, but to also keep in mind the public health and safety protocols in place,” Mrs Couch noted.
With measures in place against the spread of Covid-19, the event is accessible by reservation only. Dinner is priced at R450 for two persons, and diners have a choice between the Waterfront Surprise Combo basket, and the Waterfront kebab served with chips and salad, and dessert. As the event is for a good cause, families are also welcome.
As for the raffle draw, it is set to take place at 7pm, and among the prizes to be won are bottles of wine and alcohol, among others. Raffle tickets are being sold at the café itself, at only R25. All proceeds from the event and evening are to be remitted to the artist.
Among the sponsors who came together to host the fundraising are East Indies, Savy and Sons, Xpress Printing and Quench Distribution.
