President Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday chaired a virtual meeting of the cabinet at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.

Cabinet approved topostpone the restriction on the use, distribution and sale of balloons from June 1 to September 2021.  An immediate ban will however be placed on the importation of balloons and the use of balloons on beaches.

Cabinet also approvedthe Financial Services Authority (Exemption Notice), 2021which will allow the Financial Services Authority to issue an Exemption Notice to certain licensees from having to appoint compliance officers. 

The respective ministries and departments are expected to provide further information on the cabinet decisions.
