Two post-secondary institutions, namely the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) and the National Institute of Health and Social Studies (NIHSS) have each received a batch of hand sanitisers and disinfectants from the Seychelles Association of Omnibus Operators (SAOO).

This was during a short ceremony at the STA compound, La Misère yesterday morning. The donation is part of the SAOO’s programme of activities for this year with the two institutions.

Present to receive the donations from the chairman of the association Mervin Elizabeth were the director of NIHSS Marylene Lucas and the deputy director of STA Brigitte Joubert. Also present were other members of the SAOO.

Speaking after the handover, Mr Elizabeth said this was a way to give back to the community especially during these difficult times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic when the health authorities are placing a lot of emphasis on the need to continuously sanitise and disinfect our hands and at a time when the cost of these cleaning disinfectants are really high.

Ms Joubert thanked the association not only for its generous donation but also for the good quality transport services that it offers.
