President Ramkalawan to visit outer islands |06 April 2021
President Wavel Ramkalawan will undertake a visit to the outer islands from April 9 to 12, a press release from State House has announced.
The presidential delegation will include members of the diplomatic community as a symbolic gesture of appreciation for the continuous support their respective countries have extended to Seychelles, especially during this ongoing global pandemic.
The tour will include a visit to the Unesco World Heritage site Aldabra Atoll followed by brief stops to other outer islands including Alphonse, Assumption, Astove, Farquhar and Desroches.
President Ramkalawan will inaugurate the PV plants on Astove and Farquhar.
The delegation will also include the First Lady, Linda Ramkalawan; the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde; and the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, Flavien Joubert.
The diplomats going on the outer islands trip are Guo Wei (China), Francesca Alexandra Azais (Sovereign Military Order of Malta), Gen. Dalbir Singh Suhag (India), Artem Kozhin (Russia), Dominique Mas (France), Makoto Tominaga (Japan), Tharushi Gunathilake (Sri Lanka) and Mathew Harper (UK).
