Govinden resigns as Chief Justice   |07 November 2026

Rony Govinden has resigned as Chief Justice of the Republic of Seychelles.

President Dr Patrick Herminie has received his resignation, which was submitted in accordance with Article 131(1)(c) of the Constitution of the Republic of Seychelles.

The President has acknowledged Mr Govinden’s service to the Judiciary and the Republic of Seychelles and expressed his appreciation for his contribution to the administration of justice.
