Russian President Putin congratulates President Ramkalawan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Seychelles’ new President Wavel Ramkalawan who won the general elections held last weekend.

President Putin’s message reads: “Accept my congratulations on your election to the Presidential post.

“Russia and Seychelles traditionally enjoy friendly relations. I am confident that their further constructive development meets the interests of both our nations to full extent.

“I wish you every success in fulfilment of such important duty at the helm of state, as well as good health and well-being.”

Indian HC extends felicitations to Seychelles’ new president

Indian High Commissioner to Seychelles, Dalbir Singh Suhag, has extended his sincere felicitations to Wavel Ramkalawan on his historic victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

In his message, Mr Suhag describes Mr Ramkalawan’s win as “a victory for the ideals of democracy, a common value that binds our two countries.”

He added: “India and Seychelles enjoy an exemplary bilateral relationship that rests on the shared principles of mutual respect, equality and progress. Seychelles is a close maritime neighbour and a valued partner to India. I am confident that under your abled leadership, our traditional ties will grow from strength to strength.  

“I am also confident that under your leadership, Seychelles will continue to be steered towards a path of greater success, prosperity and national unity. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to you for a successful presidency.

“Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and sustained cooperation.”
