Father Eric Leon celebrates silver jubilee of priesthood

Father Eric Leon

Father Eric Leon was ordained priest of the Catholic Diocese on August 27, 1995 and on Thursday he celebrated 25 years of priesthood.

To mark this momentous occasion and silver jubilee of his sacerdotal life a thanksgiving service was organised on Thursday afternoon at the Ste Mary Magdalena’s church at Takamaka where he is currently serving as the parish priest.

More thanksgiving services are taking place during the weekend at the St Peter & St Paul parish church at Port Glaud where he was ordained 25 years ago and where he served many years of his priesthood.

During the 25 years Father Eric also spent several years as the parish priest at Cascade, Anse Royale and more recently he has been posted at Takamaka.

Since August last year Bishop Denis Wiehe appointed him as the hospital chaplain.

Father Leon has the primary responsibility to Seychelles Hospital at Mont Fleuri.

As part of his duties, Father Eric provides pastoral care to patients, their family members and hospital employees.
