President Faure sends message of condolence to Pakistan

President Faure has extended his condolences to Arif Alvi, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, following the shocking news of the tragic air plane crash of the Pakistan International Airlines flight which claimed the lives of 97 people.

“There are no words of comfort that could smoothen the comprehensibly deep wounds of despair of the families and loved ones of the victims of such calamity,” expressed President Faure.

The president further added that “in this moment of national grief, the government and the people of the Republic of Seychelles join me in extending our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to your government, to the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to the families who have lost their loved ones.”

In conclusion, President Faure reaffirmed that “Seychelles and Pakistan have shared a diplomatic relationship over forty years and in this time of profound loss, I wish to assure the people of Pakistan of our continued solidarity.”
