President meets SCCI Business Awards winners

Entrepreneur of the year Mustafa Bristol, young entrepreneur of the year James Dupres and female entrepreneur of the year Roxanne Bennett were among the 2020 winners of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Awards who were welcomed by President Danny Faure at State House yesterday.

The eighth Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Business Awards was held in January where it recognised and rewarded outstanding companies, entrepreneurs, individuals for their hard work, dedication, motivation, desire to make things happen and their significant contributions to the country’s economy.

Mustafa Bristol, whose company Bristol Enterprise specialises in exporting cinnamon bark and making essential oils and coconut based products, won the entrepreneur of the year award.

James Dupres won the young entrepreneur of the year for his businesses Dupres Consultancy who offers multimedia consultancy, video and photography, graphic design services, events organising among different others.

Female entrepreneur of the year went to Roxanne Bennett for her company, ROCKIT, who offers expertise to create marketing collateral of the highest standard for local business to promote themselves with.

Following their visit and discussions with the head of state, Mr Bristol noted that they shared with him their challenges and potential solutions in order to move forward in each of their respective fields of work. They also expressed their commitment to continue inspiring those around them, particularly young entrepreneurs.

He noted that the president was attentive to all their issues and assured them of his commitment to help them.

The president also expressed his appreciation towards the private sector as it contributes a great amount towards the economy, added Mr Bristol.
