President Faure sends condolences to Mozambique |20 February 2020

President Danny Faure has extended his heartfelt condolences to the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, following the sad news of the passing away of Marcelino Dos Santos, a founding member of the Frelimo Party and a former Minister for Planning and Development of Mozambique. 

In his message, President Faure stated: “Our dear brother, the late Mr Dos Santos, will be remembered as an instrumental figure in the struggle for independence in Mozambique, and a true pioneer in the cause for political liberation for his people and the African continent.”

“In this hour of national grief, the government and the people of Seychelles join me in conveying our deepest condolences to the government, to the family of the late Mr Dos Santos and the people of Mozambique for the loss of a national hero and a towering political figure in Africa,” concluded President Faure.
