Postal Services marks 165 years with exhibition and new website |08 October 2026
Launching of the website
Seychelles Postal Services (SPS) yesterday celebrated 165 years of postal services in Seychelles with the launch of a historical exhibition and a new website during a ceremony at Kenwyn House.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the history and evolution of postal services in Seychelles while highlighting the organisation’s ongoing efforts to modernise its operations and meet the changing needs of customers in an increasingly digital world.
The new SPS website is the result of two years of work to create a platform that is more modern, user-friendly and responsive to customer needs.
Branded in the organisation’s traditional blue and red postal colours, the website provides information on SPS branches on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, its services, news and events, and other useful resources. It also features profiles of SPS team members.
The website forms part of the organisation’s broader efforts to become a more digitally enabled postal service by embracing technology and innovation to improve service delivery.
In her opening remarks, SPS chief executive Mariella Buisson said that, as one of the oldest institutions in the country, the postal service has played a vital role in connecting Seychelles with the rest of the world.
“Long before fibre-optic cables and smartphones, it was the post that connected our islands to each other and to the world,” she said.
