Former President Faure urges stronger global action to protect oceans
Former Seychelles President Danny Faure has called for renewed international action to protect the world’s oceans, warning that rising sea temperatures and increasingly frequent marine heatwaves are putting coral reefs and coastal communities under growing pressure.
In an article published by TIME, former President Faure reflected on the latest scientific findings showing record ocean temperatures and a significant decline in global hard coral cover. He said the developments were “deeply concerning” but should also serve as a reason to act.
