Police officers testify on explosion investigation
The Commission of Inquiry into the Civil Construction Company Limited (CCCL) explosion of December 7, 2023, continues its hearings this week, with four police officers appearing in open session at the Palais de Justice yesterday.
Testimony of Shepherd Leon – Former lead investigator
Former Sub-Inspector Shepherd Leon, who resigned in October 2024 after 22 years of service, testified that despite extensive efforts, the investigation could not establish how the explosion occurred. He was instructed by his superior in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to lead the investigation, assisted by two female officers and other units.
