Friendship and cooperation reaffirmed in Seychelles–Mauritius talks

 

Seychelles and Mauritius reaffirmed their close and longstanding bilateral relations and their commitment to further strengthening cooperation during a courtesy call by Ambassador Ian Madeleine, principal secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & the Diaspora of Seychelles, on Dhananjay Ramful, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration & International Trade of Mauritius, on September 10, 2026.

The meeting was also attended by Nicholas Prea, High Commissioner of Seychelles to Mauritius, and Jemma Simeon, principal counsellor at the Seychelles High Commission.

Minister Ramful welcomed the Seychelles delegation and highlighted the strong ties between the two countries, including the recent visit of President Patrick Herminie to Mauritius. Discussions focused on shared priorities and challenges, including climate change, ocean governance, and the wider geopolitical environment affecting small island developing states (Sids).
