Unsung heroes of healthcare celebrated
To mark International Housekeeper Day (September 13–19), the Ministry of Health hosted an exclusive appreciation dinner on September 11, 2026 to recognise and celebrate the dedication of housekeepers across the health sector.
The special dinner, held at Espace Bar and Café, Ile Du Port, brought together housekeepers from Seychelles Hospital, North East Point Hospital, and clinics and health centres across Mahé. The event was graced by President Patrick Herminie, who served as guest of honour.
Housekeepers form the backbone of healthcare, yet their work often happens behind the scenes. This evening placed them in the spotlight, offering dining, entertainment, and recognition.
