CCCL Inquiry hears testimony from employees Maidoo and Mathiot |05 September 2026

The Commission of Inquiry into the Civil Construction Company Limited (CCCL) quarry explosion yesterday heard testimony from two employees, Nimraz Maidoo and Cedric Mathiot.

Maidoo, a resident of Brilliant, worked as CCCL’s purchasing coordinator from June 2016 to June 2024. He initially joined as store manager, overseeing daily operations, local and overseas purchasing, and customs clearance for imported items, particularly for Island Motors and CCCL. He also managed stock-taking of more than 12,000 spare parts for heavy machinery.
