Seychelles participates in regional network meeting of ozone officers
The Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy & Natural Resources recently took part in the UNEP Anglophone Network Meeting held in Ethiopia. Seychelles was represented by senior ozone officer Inese Chang‑waye and assistant ozone officer Maria Dubel.
The meeting, attended by representatives from 23 English‑speaking African countries, aimed to strengthen regional cooperation and support implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment. Under the Kigali Amendment, countries are committed to phasing down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) – man‑made chemical compounds widely used in refrigeration and air‑conditioning that contribute significantly to global warming.
