Ceps gears up for fifth Volunteer Awards |21 July 2026

The Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps) will once again honour individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to volunteerism and community development when the fifth Ceps Volunteer Awards takes place on December 5, 2026.

Established in 2016, the awards recognise the invaluable role that volunteers and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) play in improving the lives of others, supporting vulnerable groups, and contributing to the social and sustainable development of Seychelles.

Over the years, the initiative has become an important platform for celebrating individuals and organisations whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to community service have inspired positive change across the country. It also seeks to strengthen the culture of volunteerism by encouraging greater civic participation and recognising the impact of selfless service.

This year's awards feature three categories that recognise excellence in volunteerism and community engagement.

The Volunteer of the Year Award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, commitment, and leadership through voluntary service. The award honours a volunteer whose efforts have significantly improved the well-being of individuals, communities, organisations, or the nation through sustained and impactful service.

Recipients of the Volunteer of the Year Award will also serve as Ceps Volunteer Ambassadors for a period of two years. As ambassadors, they will support initiatives that promote volunteerism and active citizenship by participating in awareness campaigns, encouraging volunteer recruitment, representing Ceps at national events, and sharing their experiences to inspire others to become involved in community service.

The Best Organisation Award recognises a civil society organisation that has demonstrated excellence in service delivery, volunteer engagement, innovation, sustainability, and community impact. It honours organisations whose programmes and initiatives have created lasting positive change and contributed significantly to the development and well-being of Seychelles.

The People's Choice Award, introduced for the fifth edition of the awards, gives members of the public the opportunity to recognise a volunteer whose dedication and service have made a meaningful difference within their community or at the national level. Open to volunteers from all backgrounds, regardless of organizational affiliation, the category highlights the important contribution of grassroots volunteerism while allowing the public to play an active role in selecting one of the award recipients.

Beyond recognising outstanding achievements, the Ceps Volunteer Awards aim to inspire a new generation of volunteers by showcasing the positive impact that acts of service can have on individuals, communities, and the nation. The awards also reinforce the important contribution of civil society in supporting national development and strengthening social cohesion.

The winners of the fifth Ceps Volunteer Awards will be announced during the official awards ceremony on December 5, 2026, bringing together volunteers, civil society organisations, partners, and supporters to celebrate those whose commitment to service continues to make a lasting difference across Seychelles.
