By Sunny Esparon
The Office of the First Lady, in collaboration with AMSA Seychelles, hosted a blood drive at Bel Eau on Saturday morning as part of the ongoing National Day activities.
Speaking to the press, AMSA operations manager Niladri Goswami explained that of the 80 expected participants, 40 were able to successfully donate blood, as donors must meet specific medical criteria. The event concluded at 2pm.
Mr Goswami noted that the initiative also commemorated World Blood Donor Day on June 14. Since 2015, AMSA has organised blood donation camps across the country. He explained that many of the participants were foreign workers, as local organisations often host their own camps.
