Seychelles hosts regional workshop to support ocean governance and cooperation
Seychelles is currently hosting a regional workshop bringing together experts, government officials and legal specialists from across Africa and the Indian Ocean to strengthen the carrying out of a key international ocean agreement.
The Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Clinic workshop, taking place from April 21 to 24, 2026, forms part of broader efforts to support countries in carrying out the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction. The event has drawn more than 40 attendees from small island developing states (Sids), coastal least developed countries (LDCs), international organisations and academic institutions.
