Valorising water

 

Water is one of the most important food commodities for our survival. All of our body cells, organs, systems and most bodily processes require water. We cannot survive for more than a few days without water! Water constitutes over half of the human body and nearly two thirds of the Earth’s surface, cementing it as truly crucial for all life – beyond just humans.

As a way of valorising fresh water, World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance held annually on March 22, since 1993. The aim of the day is to raise awareness globally on the challenges faced by billions of people every day to have access to safe and fresh water for hydration and sanitation.
