Special audit exposes major flaws and losses in STCL cold storage project
A special audit into the newly constructed cold storage facility operated by the Seychelles Trading Company Limited has uncovered serious weaknesses in how the project was planned, managed and executed, raising concerns over possible malpractice.
The report was presented by Auditor General Gamini Herath to the Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte, during a meeting at State House yesterday morning. The audit was carried out following a request from President Patrick Herminie, in line with Article 158 of the Constitution, which provides for scrutiny of public funds.
