International Women’s Day is both a celebration and a call to reflection – a moment to honour women’s achievements while recognising the resilience, leadership, and vision that continue to shape societies worldwide. Across continents, women are breaking barriers, influencing policy, driving innovation, and inspiring future generations.
This year, Seychelles NATION spoke with Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Rose-Quatre, chief executive of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Continental Secretariat. Recently named among the ‘Top 100 Most Influential African Women of 2025’ by Avance Media and the ‘100 Most Influential Africans of 2024’ by New African Magazine, she embodies both the perspective of a small island state and the weight of continental responsibility.
