R11.8bn plan focuses on workers, families and responsible spending
Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte, yesterday presented a proposed national budget of R11.8 billion to the National Assembly, describing it as a budget “for the many and not the few”.
Minister Laporte described the budget as one aimed at restoring workers’ rights, strengthening social protection, and supporting families, while maintaining a “sustainable and responsible fiscal framework”.
