Week‑long activities conclude on Curieuse Island

 

A week of activities commemorating World Wetlands Day has concluded on Curieuse Island, bringing together more than 100 participants from various age groups and schools in a celebration of wetlands and traditional knowledge.

This year’s theme, ‘Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage’, highlighted the vital role wetlands play in sustaining ecosystems and communities. “This theme emphasises the vital role of wetlands in sustaining ecosystems and communities,” said Jean‑Claude Labrosse, principal Climate Adaptation Officer at the Department of Energy & Climate Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy and Natural Resources.
