Roche Caiman senior citizens gather to honour the legacy of G. S. Pillay |24 January 2026

After a five-year hiatus, more than 200 senior citizens from Roche Caiman came together to commemorate the birthday and anniversary of the late G. S. Pillay, celebrating his kindness and enduring commitment to community unity.

The special lunch, held yesterday afternoon at the Roche Caiman community centre, was hosted by Hon. Audrey Vidot, National Assembly member for the district, and the district authority, in collaboration with the G. S. Pillay family. Among the distinguished guests were the Minister for Local Government and Inner Islands, Eveline Rose, and Mr Pillay’s two grandchildren.
