Seychelles win first match, lose second one
Seychelles won their first match of the COPA Dar es Salaam tournament on Sunday, edging Burundi 6-5, with Terrence Amade finding the back of the net on four occasions.
Seychelles’ two other goals came courtesy of Brian Mousbé and Davyan Hoareau.
In their second match yesterday, Seychelles lost 2-4 to Tanzania.
Hosted by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), this year’s competition is being played in a two-group league of four teams, with each playing once against each other.
The top two teams in each group shall qualify for the semifinals, while the bottom two teams shall play for the fifth to eight place play-offs.
A total of 20 matches are expected to be played during the five-day tournament.
Other than Seychelles, seven other countries, namely Uganda, Malawi, Burundi, Libya, Kenya, Mozambique and hosts Tanzania are taking part.
