Seychelles police clarify poster misunderstanding and reinforce road safety message

 

The Seychelles Police has addressed public concerns following the circulation of a poster on social media warning of a fine of R1,000 for vehicles playing loud music, whether driving or stationary.

The clarification came during a press conference held on Saturday at the Police Headquarters in Victoria, led by Superintendent of Police Jeffery Antoine, head of the Traffic Section. SP Antoine explained that the poster was part of an educational initiative under the ‘Arrive Alive’ campaign, aimed at sensitising the public about road safety and existing regulations rather than penalising motorists.
