‘You’ll own nothing and be happy.’ This provocative phrase, from a 2016 World Economic Forum video based on an essay by Ida Auken, imagined a sharing economy where people access services instead of owning assets.

The vision promised convenience, less waste, and efficiency, but in 2026, it is fast becoming reality worldwide and in Seychelles, the warning signs are already appearing.
