Ernesto Lionnet named new leader of Lalyans Nouvo Sesel

Ernesto Lionnet has been appointed as the new leader of Lalyans Nouvo Sesel.

Mr Lionnet, who previously served as the party’s secretary general, succeeds former leader Godfra Hermitte, who resigned on November 16, 2025.

The announcement was made yesterday afternoon at the National Library by party chairman Cyril Lau-tee, who has also assumed the role of secretary general. Mr Lau-tee explained that Mr Hermitte had informed the executive committee of his intention to step down during a meeting held on November 7, 2025. At that meeting, it was agreed that Mr Lionnet would take over as party leader while Mr Lau-tee would become secretary general.
