Eid ul-Adha discretionary day-off for Muslim employees

The National Muslim Council of Seychelles has advised that the Islamic Festival of Eid ul-Adha will be observed on Friday June 6, 2025.

The society has requested that Muslim employees of the public sector be given a day off on the Festival day to attend the Congregational prayers and related activities. Approval is conveyed for a day-off to be granted to Muslim employees in government, including parastatal organisations on the Festival day.

Employees concerned should nevertheless seek specific approval from their respective chief executives who may exercise their discretion in the matter, depending on the exigencies of the service.
