Come celebrate in ‘Unity in Diversity’
June is Seychelles’ month of national pride, unity, and celebration. Principal Minister Jean-François Ferrari, who also chairs the National Celebrations Committee, has shared exciting details of this year’s festivities during a recent press briefing, putting much emphasis on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’.
“We began with the National Unity Relay on June 1; a symbolic and powerful event that set the tone for the rest of the celebrations. The aim is to bring people together and encourage widespread participation in the national festivities,” said Minister Ferrari.
June 18 – Constitution Day
The first key celebration will take place on June 18, marking Constitution Day, which will be observed on the three main islands – Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
June 28–29 – Independence Day
The major event will be Independence Day on June 29, featuring the Military Parade with participants from the Seychelles Defence Forces and foreign contingents from Mauritius, India, United States, France, and the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by a military band.
