Up Close with Alex Andrews: A young man with a dream
Eighteen-year-old Alex Andrews is, like many others his age, furthering his education at a training centre, with hopes of acquiring the required knowledge and skill set to join Seychelles’ primary economic sector. Alex, who is extremely passionate about art, is currently undertaking the Certificate in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts programme.
As with many other students on the programme, he is learning the basics of food preparation, and other important aspects, including occupational health and safety. Although Alex is similar to his peers in many ways, something makes him stand out – Alex is a young adult on the autism spectrum.
