For the first time in Seychelles, the embassy of Nepal based in Pretoria, South Africa hosted a major promotional event dedicated to enhancing trade, tourism and investment ties between the two countries. Held on Saturday at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort, the event showcased Nepal’s culture, economic potential, and openness to international partnerships.
The event was organised in collaboration with Hami Nepali Global-Seychelles and the Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) Seychelles Chapter, two associations representing the Nepalese community in Seychelles. It brought together members of the diplomatic corps, Seychellois businesses, travel agents, and representatives of the Nepali diaspora. Currently in Seychelles there are an estimated 2,000 Nepalese working and residing on the various islands of Seychelles.
“This is the first time we are organising such a programme in Seychelles. And we are honoured by the wholehearted cooperation of Hami Nepali Global-Seychelles, especially the secretary and his team, and also the Seychelles chapter of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association,” said Ramesh Kumar Charmakar, counsellor and deputy chief of mission at the embassy of Nepal in Pretoria.
