Au Cap Sisters lose ‘petite finale’ to finish fourth overall

 

Au Cap Sisters have concluded the women’s Handball Indian Ocean Club Championship (IOCC) in Mauritius in fourth position overall after losing the third-place match against Le Port of Reunion yesterday.

In the ‘petit finale’, the local selection lost 18-41 to miss out on the bronze medal.

Au Cap Sisters finished fourth overall after the group stage on six points from a single win and three defeats, while Le Port concluded the preliminaries in third spot. They registered two wins and two defeats in four matches, earning them eight points.

AC Brothers on the other hand played Grand La Fouche Corail of Rodrigues for the ninth spot and local selection won their match 33-28. They finished ninth overall in the men’s competition.

Yesterday’s victory was the first for AC Brothers at the tournament after finishing last in the group stage with four defeats in as many matches.

As for Seychelles’ other representative at the tournament Durantha Brothers, they finished seventh overall after defeating USS of the Comoros 44-33 in their seventh and eighth place qualification match yesterday.

Durantha Brothers finished fourth in group A on six point after one win and three defeats.
