Kenwyn house celebrates 170 years with exhibition, painting competition |12 April 2025

Established back in 1855 for the Chief Medical Examiner, Dr James Henry Brooks, the Kenwyn House, formally known as the Henry Villa, was declared a national monument in 1984.
In 2018, Gran Kaz acquired a lease on this monument and alongside the owners of the building, Cable & Wireless, they embarked on a project to restore the building to its ‘original glory’.
On Wednesday April 9, Gran Kaz launched its annual exhibition with the title ‘A Glimpse of Heritage – 170 Years of Kenwyn House Expo’. This event was aimed at celebrating the 170th anniversary of Kenwyn House and world heritage day. The exhibition, it was aimed at highlighting the importance of preserving historical sites, fostering cultural appreciation, and ensuring that Seychelles’ rich heritage remains accessible to future generations.
