Cohort of young Seychellois receive gold award
Thirty-three youngsters are the new recipients of the prestigious gold award of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme. They received their certificates from the Head of State, President Wavel Ramkalawan, during a ceremony yesterday afternoon at State House.
This award is a non-formal education programme for young people aged 14 to 24 and it encourages them to step out of their comfort zones, discover their purpose, and develop real world skills through service, adventure, and leadership.
In his address, President Ramkalawan conveyed his genuine satisfaction in seeing young individuals display a strong sense of determination.
He recognised those who navigate life with clear aims and objectives, highlighting the importance of purpose-driven living as a foundation for personal growth and development.
