Jovanie Bouzin captures 67kg gold medal,

Lorenzo Bonne settles for silver in 71kg

Jovanie Bouzin has captured a gold medal, while Lorenzo Bonne has won a silver in the 2025 AFBC Zone 4 Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships held in Maputo, Mozambique.

In the 67kg category final at the Estrela Vermelha Pavilion, Bouzin won by split decision 3-2 over an opponent from host country Mozambique. Bouzin won his first bout to qualify for the final.

As for Bonne, he lost his 71kg final bout through knockout in the second round to a Mozambican.

He had won his first fight on points against an opponent from Swaziland.

The 2025 AFBC Zone 4 Elite Men and Women Championships brought together some of the finest boxing talents from Southern Africa – Botswana, Mozambique (host nation), South Africa, Seychelles, Eswatini and Lesotho.
