Man convicted of sexual assault on minor |05 December 2024

The Supreme Court has convicted a man on three counts of sexual assault on a minor.

The decision was delivered on November 29.

Although Justice Mohan Burhan said he is satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the prosecution managed to prove the elements of the charges contained in Counts 1 to 3 beyond reasonable doubt, he stated that there is no evidence to support counts 4 to 5, and proceeded to acquit the convict on these two counts.
